Anthony Crolla Added To The Joshua Parker Undercard
Anthony Crolla added to the Joshua Parker undercard, ahead to the mouthwatering world heavyweight title fight.
The Mancunian will be facing Mexican Edson Ramirez at the Anthony Joshua vs Joseph parker undercard on March 31 at the Principality stadium in Cardiff. This follows his win against Ricky Burns back in October of 2017.
The 31-year-old fighter from Manchester will edge closer to his ambition of becoming a two-time world lightweight champion if he can beat Ramirez.
He said, “Eddie Hearn and I met recently, and we outlined a plan to get to world titles and Cardiff is the first fight in that plan.
“I need to get out there and get another win, and then we can look for a big fight in the summer. It’s a great platform, there’s no bigger event to be on, and I’m really excited to go to Cardiff. I’m always mixing at the top so I want a test and Ramirez will be well up for it.
“We’ve had rough talks about a lot of fights. Luke Campbell and I both want to fight for world titles, and I don’t think either of us would have a problem in fighting the other, but the ultimate goal for us both is to win a world title.
“We’re one and two in Britain, so it makes sense, so we’ll see what happens down the line. I’m not targeting anyone in particular; I just want a world title shot—I’ll take on any of the champions and go anywhere to do it.”
Crolla v Burns
Anthony Crolla believes that his previous win against Ricky Burns propelled him forward and has undoubtedly helped start off the year on the right foot. If he had lost that fight, it is almost certain that he would have struggled to find his way back to a world title shot.
March 31 promises to be a huge night filled with spectacular performances. And at the top of the list is the clash of the two heavyweights, Englishman Anthony Joshua and New Zealand’s Joseph Parker in a world title unification match.
Other fighters that are set to perform at the AJ vs Parker undercard include WBA champion Ryan Burnett, Alexander Povetkin, Morgan Jones, Josh Kelly and Joe Cordina.
WBA champion Ryan Burnett will be putting his title on the line in about against Yonfrez Parejo while Alexander Povetkin defends his WBO international and WBA intercontinental title against Britain’s David Price.
Josh Kelly will be looking to win a belt of his own when he faces Carlos Molina. The two will be fighting for the WBA international welterweight belt while Joe Cordina from wales will be going against Andy Townend for the WBA international lightweight title.
